My Skincare Routine

Hi girls welcome back to my blog! :) Today's post is going to be based on My Skincare Routine. My skincare routine is quite basic to be honest, I don't use a lot of different products, this is just what works best for me :)

So the very first product in my skincare routine is my cleanser. When I'm wearing makeup I would normally double cleanse to ensure my face is clean and all excess dirt and makeup is removed. For the first cleanse I use Jojoba Oil on a cotton pad. This wipes of my makeup so effortlessly and is extremely gentle on the skin. It's also amazing at removing eye makeup, I was extremely surprised with how well this product works!( pssst! Stay tuned for an upcoming blogpost on the 'Benefits of Jojoba Oil'.)

The second part of my cleansing stage is my face cleanser. I normally use the 'Pink Grapefruit Scrub' by Neutrogena. I have to say that this is my ultimate favourite cleanser, it doesn't break me out and it also cleanses the skin fantastically. I have extremely sensitive acne prone skin so I find it difficult to come across skincare products that don't break me out. The scrub contains micro-beads which is something I have grown to love. The microbeads smoothens the surface of the skin without drying or irritating it. It always leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh and soft. The scrub also contains Salicylic acid which helps fight against blemishes and blackheads. It also consists of a grapefruit extract and Vitamin C which is a plus again!

I know the majority of you would use a toner next but personally I don't find them much use and I have struggled to come across a toner that is gentle to the skin and that doesn't break me out. If you have any suggestions for a good toner please leave a comment below telling me your favourite or leave a comment on my Facebook page! :)

Next is my moisturiser :)My everyday moisturiser is the 'Light Moisturiser' by Simple. I can't find a moisturiser as good as this one. It is super gentle on the skin and I love applying this to my face especially when it's feeling very dry as its so refreshing and leaves my skin silky soft. It contains 2 vitamins, Pro Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E. It also contains Glycerin and Borage Seed Oil. It has no artificial perfumes or colours of harsh chemicals so it won't upset your skin!

And last but not least is my primer. I use the Rimmel London Lasting Finish primer. I cannot live without this product it is incredible!! I have huuuge pores (ew I know) and this product fills them in and completely evens out my skin tone. It is the best base ever for your makeup, seriously! It claims to extend the wear of your foundation for up to 8 hours and helps to minimise the appearance of pores and even the skin tone whilst providing endless comfort. It does exactly what it says on the bottle, I can't rave about this enough, you gotta try it!

That's it, that's my skin care routine. Short and simple! I hope you enjoyed and if there is any blog posts you'd like me to write up, leave me a comment and il add it to my list!

Thanks for reading :)

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello Girlies, welcome to my blog! Firstly, I would just like to express my sincere thanks to all my followers so far. Although I have a very small audience I'm hoping that it will build over the next few weeks as I will be writing more on this blog and posting more on my Facebook page because Summer is right around the corner and let's be honest a lot of my time will be dedicated to keeping you guys up to date with my latest routines, make up, fashion and skincare tips and also plenty of giveaways will be arranged! I'm thrilled to have my blog finally up and running and so without further ado lets get into my very first blog post, My Everyday Make Up Routine.
First of all, I start of with my beloved "Simple Light Moisturiser" followed by my "Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer". I wont go into major details about these products as I am in the process of writing up my skincare routine, so all the info about these products will be covered in that blog post. I leave those 2 products to sink in for about 10 minutes prior to my foundation. This will ensure your make up doesn't go on cakey or slide off.

My absolute favourite foundation has to be the Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation. This foundation contains an SPF of 18 which will help to protect the skin from UVB rays. It is a perfect everyday foundation as it is very lightweight and has medium coverage which you can build to create a full coverage look. It is enhanced with Sapphire Radial which will give you an illuminating glow. I struggle with acne and hyperpigmentation and this foundation covers up almost everything with 1 layer, its fantastic! It is a standard sized bottle of foundation which contains 30ml of product. I use the shade 200 "Soft Beige". This retails at 9.99eur in Boots.
I use the "Expert Face" brush by Real Techniques to buff this foundation onto my face. This brush is made with ultra-plush, synthetic bristles which are 100% hand cut and cruelty free. It is firm and broad which is perfect for applying liquid or cream products onto the face. It retails at 12.5eur on Cloud10beauty.com so a great, affordable option if you're on the look out for a new brush!

The next product I use is probably my holy grail!! It is the Rimmel "Stay Matte" powder. This is my key to a flawless looking face. It sets my foundation without giving me that "cakey" appearance. It claims to keep the oil and shine on our skin under control for 5 hours, and I have to agree that this is very precise. I have oily-combination skin so this powder is a must-have in my makeup bag to keep all the unwanted oiliness away! You get 14g of product in this for 5.99eur.

I use the Real Techniques "Powder Brush" to pat the foundation into my skin. It is vital that you don't use a "swooping" motion when applying your powder as it will just remove your foundation and give you a streaky appearance. Similar to the "Expert Face" brush, it is made with synthetic taklon bristles and I have to be honest here, the bristles on this brush are the softest thing ever! I love it! This brush retails at 16.99eur in Boots.

Next up is blush, highlighting and contouring. I guess this is the stage where all the magic happens, right?! I think everyone who is a makeup junkie needs this palette in their lives! It is the "6 Contour Powder/Blush Palette #2" by Blank Canvas Cosmetics. I absolutely adore this brand, their products are reasonably priced and are AMAZING quality! These palettes in particular are always sold out on the website, the demand for them is unreal! Guess that says a lot itself? It contains 6 extra large pans; 2 matte highlighters, 2 contour shades and 2 blushes (1x white, 1x light, 1x medium, 1x dark face powder, 1x peach and 1x pink blush). It is 14.99eur on the Blank Canvas Cosmetics website which is very reasonably priced

Who else cant live without a bit of mascara? Mascara is a must if you're going for a natural look. I normally combine 2 mascaras together to get my desired look, I have really long natural lashes so its volume that I'm always in need of. I combine my L'Oreal "Telescopic Mascara" with my Estee Lauder "Little Black Primer" set. The L'Oreal mascara is great if you're in need of lengthening the appearance of your lashes, whilst the Estee Lauder set is great for creating volume. The L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara (right picture) retails at 16.49eur on Boots. The Estee Lauder set contains a primer which is tinted black, so you could use it on its own and it also contains a mascara which you can apply on top of the primer. Then, you can apply the primer over the mascara again, as a top coat. The primer works out at 24.50eur on Boots.

To add a bit of more drama to the eyes I run my Clarins"Crayon Khol Long-Lasting Eye Pencil" in my upper and lower waterline. This is part of their new Spring 2015 Collection and retails at 24.00eur. If I want to add a pop of colour onto my eyelids I will apply a mid-tone colour in my crease. I use the "180 Colours Palette" by Blank Canvas Cosmetics. It is a very versatile palette which contains 180 eye shadows and is divided into 3 tiers of 60 shadows. This palette is a perfect combo of warm(neutrals)shades, bright matte and shimmer colours and retails at 26.99eur on the Blank Canvas Cosmetics website.

For my brows, I keep it quite affordable and simple. If you're looking for a good eyebrow pencil but on a budget then the Essence "Eyebrow Design" pencil is your new best friend. This little wonder pencil is only 1.89eur and has the power to sculpt your brows to perfection. I use the shade "02 Blonde" and I must say it really is fantastic quality for the price!

Last but not least is my fabulous lippy "Very Berry" by Avon. I bought this quite some time ago and never used it. I recently started using it, and oh my gosh I am in love! Its a beautiful shade and it compliments my skin colour so much. I cant remember the price exactly but it was less than 5 euro, a bargain!
